The Council is pleased to invite members to join this call to discuss potential topics and messaging for the ASEAN Digital Innovation Forum (the "Forum"). The Council has been invited to provide input on the topics of the Forum by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) of Vietnam, who will co-organize the Forum with Singapore's Infocomm Media and Development Authority (IMDA). MIC is requesting input from the Council by May 21, and the outcomes of this call will be shared with MIC by that deadline.
Please contact Ella Duangkaew (email@example.com) or Jamie Lim (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions prior to the call.
The ASEAN Digital Innovation Forum is one of the four initiatives under the ASEAN Framework on Digital Data Governance (found here), intended to support the third strategic priority of the Framework: Digitalization and Emerging Technologies. According to the Framework, the Forum "should function as an avenue for effective dissemination of information on emerging digital trends and the relevant regulatory issues. Such forums can also include hands-on workshops for participants to experiment with the latest technological solutions, and to motivate them to adopt new technologies. Ideally, these forums would encourage collaboration between technology firms and other private and public sector organisations, promote data-driven innovation and improve awareness on key issues such as cybersecurity in ASEAN." For more information, see the full Framework here.
The first Forum will be held in September in Hanoi, and will be co-organized by Vietnam's MIC and Singapore's IMDA. The Council will help MIC and IMDA shape the topics of this Forum.
