THEMES

As several new cabinet members will be taking their posts and President Joko Widodo begins his second term, the US-ABC 2019 Indonesia Business Mission will be a prime opportunity to introduce your company and investment goals, as well as position US-ABC members as a resource to the new government.

US-ABC proposes three overarching themes below to formulate discussion agendas and frame the advocacy recommendations across all sectors, in relation to key elements in President Jokowi's One Century Indonesia (vision on Indonesia 2045):

  1. Reconstructing a more solid and positive B2G engagement
Establishing a positive first impression of the U.S. business community. Growing a mutual symbiosis in the relationship with the GOI, based on the notion of the U.S business community as an investor, resource, and job-creating partner of the administration
  1. Establishing a platform for an efficient, effective, and competitive regulatory environment
Highlighting policy, laws, and challenges in relation to FDI, trade, human capital, and SME development. Harmonizing standards, regulations, and conformity assessments to increase global and regional competitiveness
  1. Enhancing a Competitive and Sustainable Ecosystem to Support Development
Offering recommendations and initiatives to improve the quality of Indonesia?s local business ecosystems, in order to support growth in high-value jobs and expanding access to innovative technologies.

Specifically, the mission will bring various topics to the table, including:
  • Data governance
