SUMMARY:2021 Virtual Business Mission to 1st ADGMIN
DESCRIPTION:The US-ASEAN Business Council is pleased to announce that it is now registering senior-level executives for its ICT Virtual Business Mission to the 1st ASEAN Digital Ministers Meeting (ADGMIN) taking place Thursday\, January 21 to Friday\, January 22\, 2021 in Malaysia. The mission will take place virtually from January 21\, 2021 February 5\, 2021. The mission will consist of an annual plenary session with all ADGMINs and will propose bilateral meetings with each of the ASEAN Digital Ministers and U.S. Government officials from the U.S. State Department Office of International Communications and Information Policy.\n\n\n\nThis will be the 4th consecutive mission and engagement with the ASEAN Digital Ministers. The mission themes focus on COVID-19 ICT Best Practices\, regional and national ICT advocacy issues related to COVID-19\, the Virtual Digital Policy Consultative Forum for 2021\, and ASEAN digital priorities such as data governance and cybersecurity.\n\n\n\nThe Virtual Meeting will cover the following topics:\n\n Presentation on COVID-19 ICT Best Practices:\n \n Protect\n Sustain\n Recover\n Transform\n \n \n Discussion will focus on COVID-19 ICT issues. The following regional and national advocacy issues related to COVID-19 may include:\n \n Data Governance\n Data Privacy/ Data Protection\n Cybersecurity\n OTT\n Others\n \n \n Virtual Digital Policy Consultative Forum for 2020\n \n Explore possibilities of doing DPCF with certain ministry.\n \n \n\nMission Meetings:\n\nThe following meetings have been proposed. Given possible conflict meeting other engagements\, please indicate the importance of these meetings in the Business Mission Manager.\n\n\n Office of International Communications and Information Policy\, U.S. State Department\n Ministry of Communications\, Brunei\n Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications\, Cambodia\n Ministry of Communication and Information Technology\, Indonesia\n Ministry of Post and Telecommunications\, Lao PDR\n Ministry of Communications and Multimedia\, Malaysia\n Ministry of Transport and Communications\, Myanmar\n Department of Information and Communications Technology\, Philippines\n Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA)\, Singapore or Ministry of Communications and Information\, Singapore\n Ministry of Digital Economy and Society\, Thailand\n Ministry of Information and Communications\, Vietnam\n ASEAN Secretariat\n\nAdditional meetings can be requested per mission delegates' interests and the officials' availability. Please note that we must have sufficient interest from mission delegates before requesting additional meetings.
