SUMMARY:2020 Virtual Business Mission to the 52nd ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The US-ASEAN Business Council is now registering senior executives for its Virtual Business Mission to the 52nd ASEAN Economic Ministers' (AEM) Meeting. The mission will take place virtually from Monday\, August 24\, to Friday\, September 11\, and will consist of a plenary session with all AEMs\, and will propose bilateral meetings with each ASEAN Economic Ministers\, U.S. Government officials from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and the U.S. Mission to ASEAN\, and ASEAN Business Advisory Council. \n\n \n\nThis is the 21st consecutive mission and engagement with the ASEAN Economic Ministers. The mission themes focus on the impact of COVID-19 to regional integration and economic recovery in the ASEAN region. The mission constitutes a key part of our yearly engagement with ASEAN to show commitment from the Council to help achieve the realization of ASEAN Single Market and driving economic integration amidst the COVID-19. This meeting will be a prime opportunity for members to share concern and offer a collaborative solution for the AEM.\n\n\n\nThe deadline for registration and submission of materials is Wednesday\, August 19 COB (SGT).\n\n\n\nThe Virtual Meeting will cover the following topics:\n\n ASEAN COVID-19 Economic Recovery\n US-ASEAN Economic Cooperation discussion with USG and ASEAN Governments \n Regional Trade Agreements (RCEP/CP-TPP)\n ASEAN E-Commerce Development\, including the Launch of US-ABC E-Commerce Report\n ASEAN Standard Discussion\n US-ASEAN Business Alliance for Competitive SMEs \n US-ASEAN Internship Program\n\n \n\nMission participants can propose other mission themes or discussion topics. To do so\, please contact Mario Masaya (mmasaya@usasean.org) and Hai Pham (hpham@usasean.org). Proposed themes and discussion topics will also be discussed during the pre-mission planning call.\n\n \n\nVirtual Meeting Benefits:\n\n \n\n Closed-door briefing/conversations with the ASEAN Economic Ministers.\n Company profile and logos in an e-delegation package for distribution to the officials. \n Opportunities for member companies to share their business priorities and COVID-19 company practices\, offer thought leadership on various policy issues\, and present initiatives for collaboration. \n Additional e-materials for distribution to the officials before\, during and after the virtual meeting. \n\n \n\nTo ensure our delegation is best represented as a committed partner for the ASEAN Economic Ministers\, priority speaking roles will be given to companies registering high-level executives in the meeting. \n\n \n\nMission Meetings: \n\n \n\nThe following meetings have been proposed.
