Ambassador U Aung Lynn was appointed Ambassador of Myanmar to the United States on September 2016. He is the first career diplomat to be appointed to this position in over five decades.
Prior to becoming Ambassador, U Aung Lynn served as Permanent Secretary and Director General of the ASEAN Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also previously served in the United States as Minister Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Myanmar to the United Nations in New York.
