The US-ASEAN Business Council and many of its member companies have a long-running strong commitment to helping Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) in Vietnam which has been much appreciated by the government and entrepreneurs in the country. In 2016, the Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to support SMBs and conducted a series of successful workshops to empower these businesses with the latest affordable business tools and technologies. The workshops got outstanding support from many member companies and were very well received by the SMBs. Building upon two successful workshops in Hanoi and HCMC on April 18th and 20th, the Council and its partners in Vietnam are organizing the workshop entitled “Digitizing the Vietnamese Economy: Empowering SMBs for the Global Market” which will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 15th, 2017.
The main objective of the workshops is to share experiences and business tools from multi-national companies to help small businesses increase their efficiency and productivity and be part of the global market players in digital economy. This workshop is one of the foundations of the Council’s 2017 SMBs program in Vietnam with the aim of having a larger symposium in September 2017 at the sideline of the APEC SME ministerial meeting in HCMC.
