The US-ASEAN Business Council is pleased to hold a roundtable with National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Director-General and Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernest Pernia.
NEDA is the cabinet-level agency that oversees economic development and planning. In his role as NEDA Director-General, Secretary Pernia played a leading role in crafting the recently released Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022, the aim of which is to move the Philippines to upper-middle income status by 2022. He also played a leading role in crafting Ambisyon Natin 2040, the long-term economic development vision on which the PDP 2017-2022 is based, and President Rodrigo Duterte's 10-Point Socioeconomic Development Agenda. During the roundtable, Secretary Pernia with provide an update on economic developments in the Philippines and the government's economic development priorities.
