Roundtable with H.E. Thongphane Savanphet, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR

The Council is pleased to invite you to join a roundtable with H.E. Thongphane Savanphet, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Laos, during his trip to Washington, DC for the U.S.-Laos Comprehensive Dialogue. The Deputy Minister will be joined by the new Ambassador of Laos to the U.S., and the Director General of the ASEAN Department of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Deputy Minister will discuss his perspectives on the current state of U.S.-Lao bilateral relations, outcomes of the comprehensive dialogue and the recent U.S.-Laos Trade and Investment Framework (TIFA) talks in Vientiane, and how the U.S. private sector can help Laos achieve its economic priorities. The Deputy Minister will also be keen to hear about and answer questions regarding members' priorities and concerns in Laos, and how the Lao government can be supportive of U.S. business in Laos.
