Luncheon Briefing with Assistant Secretary Manisha Singh, U.S. Dept of State

In partnership with AmCham, the US-ASEAN Business Council proudly welcomes Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Manisha Singh, who will share her insights on the recently-launched Indo-Pacific Strategy. As a subject of great importance to American foreign policy, the Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) Strategy was initiated by the Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo.

Under this initiative, Sec. Pompeo announced new U.S. economic plans to support the fundamental areas of the future: digital economy, energy, and infrastructure. This represents strategic investment and deeper engagement with the Indo-Pacific, while growing the United States’ economy and creating jobs at home. It will be of great benefit not just the Philippines, one of the United States' closest geo-political allies, but to the whole Indo-Pacific region.
