Please join the US-ASEAN Business Council for a Roundtable Discussion with His Excellency General (Ret.) Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, to discuss the latest updates and policy trends in Indonesia. Coordinating Minister Luhut is visiting Washington, D.C. for the 2018 Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group. The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs oversees the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, and Ministry of Tourism.
Prior to his present appointment, General (Ret.) Pandjaitan was the Chief of Staff to President Joko Widodo, in which he later served as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. General (Ret.) Pandjaitan has dedicated his career within the Indonesian Government, having served under the administration of former President B.J. Habibie as Indonesia's Ambassador to Singapore and under the administration of former President Abdurrahman Wahid as Minister of Trade and Industry.
He graduated as the best cadet from the Indonesian National Military Academy, and earned a Master's degree in Public Administration from George Washington University.
