The Council is pleased to announce its plan to hold a one-day Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) workshop titled "Surabaya SMEs Go Digital and International" in Surabaya, Indonesia. Official sponsorship invitation and event details will follow.
 
This workshop is a joint initiative between the Council, U.S. Consulate General Surabaya, Indonesia Ministry of Cooperative and SME, KADIN (Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry), and APINDO (The Employers’ Association of Indonesia). The workshop aims to improve the competitiveness of Surabaya SMEs by giving them the introduction to the available digital tools and solutions and services to do cross-border trade in the digital economy era.
 
Around 150 Surabaya and neighboring cities multi-industry SME owners and senior executives are expected to join in this workshop. The workshop will also be an excellent opportunity for Members to meet with senior-level dignitaries and government officials.

  • U.S. Consul General in Surabaya, Heather Variava (confirmed)
  • Minister of Cooperative and SME, H.E. Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga (invited)
  • Governor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini (invited)
  • Chairman of KADIN, Rosan P. Roeslani (invited)
After the workshop, sponsoring Members will have the privilege to participate in “East Java Stakeholder Networking Reception” hosted by the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya. This reception will serve as an occasion for Members and East Java senior-level government officials, stakeholders, and associations at the provincial and sub-district level to network or introduce business opportunities. Sponsoring Members in the SME workshop will have a special benefit to propose invitees at the reception. Members are highly welcomed to participate in the SME workshop and the reception.  
 
We also welcome Members’ inputs and suggestions on topics and specific SME industry target of the workshop.
