1st Data Governance Sub-Committee Meeting

Please join the Council for our first meeting of the Data Governance Sub-Committee. The purpose of this first meeting is to establish the goals and priorities of the Sub-Committee, and for all participants to share their individual companies' data governance perspectives and positions. The goal of subsequent meetings will be to consolidate these positions into a unified set US-ASEAN Business Council-specific guiding principles on Data Governance in ASEAN. Background

The Council was called to create a working group/sub-committee on Data Governance during our first ICT Committee In-Person Meeting on February 15. The purpose of this Data Governance sub-committee is to develop regional and in-country guiding principles on data governance in ASEAN. These principles will be developed by Council members, and be used by Council members during our engagements throughout the year. 

The primary goal of the sub-committee is to develop a concrete set of ASEAN and in-country guiding principles for data governance to present at the 3rd 2019 Digital Policy Consultative Forum (DPCF) in Thailand in August, which will focus on how ASEAN can become a leader in digital data governance. 

The Data Governance Sub-Committee will be led by a Vice Chair of the ICT Committee and report its activities to the ICT Committee during the monthly ICT Committee in-person meetings.
