DESCRIPTION:A delegation of decision-makers from the Vietnam Electricity National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) is visiting the United States to learn about U.S. technologies and best practices that can support Vietnam's growing power development needs. As part of the visit\, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency will host a Business Briefing for U.S. companies to learn about upcoming project opportunities in Vietnam's power sector. \n\n \n\nAttend the Business Briefing to:\n\n	Meet with key decision-makers \n	Learn about upcoming project opportunities and procurement opportunities\n	Gain market intelligence on Vietnam's power sector\n\n Topics of Discussion:\n\nEVNNPT estimates investment of $2.8 billion into the country's transmission system between 2017 and 2020.  EVNNPT is looking to build its technical capacity and has interest in a variety of advanced technologies and best practices such as: \n\n\n	Transmission modernization technologies \n	ICT infrastructure technologies \n	Unmanned aerial vehicles \n	Internet of Things (IOT) \n	Artificial intelligence (AI) \n	Renewable energy integration technologies\n\nVietnam Advance Transmission Technologies Industry Roundtable:\n\nDuring the Business Briefing\, USTDA will host a Vietnam Advance Transmission Technologies Industry Roundtable\, which will engage industry leaders and EVNNPT delegates in a discussion that addresses the use of advanced technologies and best practices for modernizing electric power transmission systems.  Topics will include: adoption of next generation technologies\, such as unmanned aerial vehicles\, robots\, Internet of Things (IOT) and artificial intelligence\; addressing the challenge of integrating distributed energy resources\; best practices for reducing power losses\; and expansion of Smart Grid applications. The format of the roundtable will be brief introductory remarks by U.S. industry\, followed by EVNNPT's response and a moderated discussion.
