DESCRIPTION:Please join the US-ASEAN Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for a roundtable with His Excellency Thomas Lembong\, the Chairman of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board\, to discuss the opportunities and challenges in Indonesia immediately following his participation at the 2017 U.S.-Indonesia Trade and Investment Framework Agreement discussions in Washington\, DC (June 12-13). \n\n \n\nPrior to his present appointment\, Chairman Lembong was the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. He was also active in the private sector prior to government service\, where he served as Managing Partner and CEO of Quvat Management\, a Singapore-based private equity fund with investments in Indonesia\, Singapore and Malaysia. Founded in 2006\, Quvat manages funds for several leading American universities endowments as well as Asian and Middle-Eastern sovereign wealth funds.\n\n\n\nPrior to co-founding Quvat\, Mr. Lembong had extensive experience from the financial sector\, working amongst others for Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley. From 2000-2002\, Mr. Lembong was also a Senior Official at the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA)\, a government - led economic program set up to restructure Indonesia's banks and private sector non-performing loans following the 1997/98 Asian Financial Crisis.\n\n\n\nChairman Lembong holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from Harvard University.
