SUMMARY:First Planning Call for the 2021 Virtual Business Mission to the 53rd ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Council is pleased to invite members to join the First Planning Call for the 2021 Virtual Business Mission to 53rd ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting on Thursday\, August 5\, 2021 from 08.30 AM   10.00 AM (SGT)/Wednesday\, August 4\, 2021 from 08.30 PM   10.00 PM (ET).\n\n \n\nCall Agenda\n\nDuring the first part of the call\, Ms. Melissa Brown\, Charg  d'Affaires\, a.i.\, at the U.S. Mission to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (official bio is available here)\, will provide a briefing on the U.S. Government (USG)'s priorities for engaging the ASEAN Economic Ministers during the 53rd AEM Meeting. The briefing will be followed by a short Q&A session.\n\nOn the second part of the call\, we will discuss the preparation for the annual US-ABC Business Mission to AEM from September 13 - September 24\, 2021. Moreover\, the call will review the proposed mission theme\, key deliverables to the AEM\, priority bilateral meetings\, and other logistical matters.\n\n\n\nFurther details of the Business Mission\, as well as the invitation\, will be sent at a later date.\n\n\n\nBusiness Mission Themes:\n\n\n\nThis year's mission themes will focus on the post-pandemic comprehensive recovery in the ASEAN region. The mission constitutes a key part of our yearly engagement with ASEAN to show commitment from the Council to help achieve the realization of ASEAN Single Market and driving economic integration amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
