DESCRIPTION:H.E Datuk Dr. Awang Adek Hussin served as the Malaysian Ambassador to the US from April 2014-July 2016. He holds degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Drew University\, US and a Master's and PhD degree from Wharton Business School\, University of Pennsylvania.His career included stints as Assistant Governor\, Bank Negara\, Chairman of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (National Energy) and DG\, Offshore Financial Services\, Labuan.\n\nH.E Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin became active in politics in 2001 as Deputy UMNO leader for Bachok and UMNO Kelantan Treasurer. In 2004\, he was elected MP for Bachok and appointed the Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister. In 2006 he was appointed the Deputy Finance Minister until 2009 and was a Senator from 2012-13.
