SUMMARY:Customs Committee Quarterly Call (October 2015)
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a discussion about two potential Council engagements and other issues of interest to the Committee.\n\n	Vietnam Customs Forum: The forum will target officials of the General Department of Vietnam Customs and the Ministry of Finance in order to discuss ongoing reform efforts\, identify areas where Council members believe improvements could still be made\, and share best practices.  There will also be opportunities to involve other Ministries in the forum so that we may discuss non-customs trade barriers.  A proposed draft agenda for the forum can be downloaded here\, while the full concept note is available here. \n\n \n\n\n	ASEAN Customs Enforcement and Compliance Working Group (CECWG) proposal for engagement: The Council is speaking to the ASEAN Secretariat about arranging some form of engagement with the CECWG\, which is tasked by the ASEAN Customs Directors General Meeting to carry out the customs integration agenda as it relates to post-clearance auditing\, multilateral cooperation on customs enforcement\, and public security. If there is enough member support\, the Council could request consultations to take place alongside the CECWG's March 2016 meeting. The deadline for filing the request is October 5\, for consideration at the CECWG's October meeting.
